Hello February!

And Valentine's day...

You either love it or hate it. I do usually pretend-vomit at anything remotely cute or romantic but instead of doing that this month I'm gonna embrace the love. By this I mean I'm gonna be extra lovely to my friends and family and make sure they know what they mean to me.

Aside from that I really do hate the commercialism of valentines day. It's meant to be a day to celebrate love but I see that less and less and it's turned into a massive cliche.

If you're in a relationship do something different this year. Don't do shitty traditional gifts. Go somewhere and make some memories. Get creative and make your presents!

My plan for valentines day will probably be a night in with fellow single buds with a dominos (I'll take any excuse for a dominos).

What are your plans for valentines? Gonna do something different this year?

P.s. Boys if you're reading, buy her flowers all year round. As surprises. Not on valentines day, cos she expects that. Just show up at her house with a bunch for no reason other than that you love her. Unless she doesn't like flowers. Then don't bother.

  1. I know what you mean about Valentines day: each year it seems more and more hyped. Last year when I was single I did dread it a bit, but whenever I've been in a couple I've still done something with who I'm with just because it feels wrong NOT to, y'know?! As much as I don't agree with the commercialism of it all, I'm a romantic and will take any excuse to contemplate my love life, even if that does mean contemplating it from the other end of a bottle of wine (I did that last year and it was surprisingly enlightening) haha xx

  2. I totally agree, it's so commercialised! My boyfriend and I are treating it like any other night, staying in with a film. I'm not paying bumped up restaurant prices or some expensive presents just to help the big companies out! I hope you have a nice night in, jealous of the dominos!
